Code of Practice
Course 2.0: MTAA/MTANZ Code of Practice
Industry has a long association of working with healthcare professionals. The MTAA/MTANZ Code of Practice provides guidance on the medical technology industry's relationships with healthcare professionals and consumers. The 5th edition MTAA/MTANZ Code of Practice was adopted by Members in October 2009. The Code is self regulated by industry. Under the Code of Practice, there are specific obligations that need to be noted to ensure that member companies are compliant with the Code.
It is a requirement of the MTAA/MTANZ Code of Practice that all member company staff engaged in direct interactions with healthcare professionals or those involved in purchasing activities complete Association approved Code training. A range of training options are available to medical technology companies.
For all four modules:
1. Attendance at MTAA scheduled training in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. A list of scheduled dates and fees appears below.
2. Delivery of one or more course modules in-house. The MTAA presenter will come to your venue and present the training. A booking form must be completed for each event.
For module 2.1 Introduction to the Code of Practice only:
3. Endorsement of company developed training with scenarios based around a company's own services and products, audited in advance of delivery by MTAA. A report will be provided following the audit. Fees for this service are $350 per training package (up to 4 hour review) with any further review (if required) at $100 per additional hour (plus GST).
4. Completion of the self-paced online module developed by MTAA. Companies wishing to register must complete the online form. From the time a company registers, all nominated participants can access the training for up to 12 months. Fees to participate in the training are built on a sliding scale for member and non-member companies. Please click here for further information.
