MedTech 2017 Annual Conference is 2 weeks away!

The MedTech 2017 Annual Conference provides a unique opportunity for industry professionals to gather and exchange ideas and insights with peers and other leaders in the medical technology community.

2.2 Complying with the Code of Practice (21 November, 2017)

This half day face-to-face training course is designed to provide an opportunity for participants to develop their understanding of the industry Code. Some of the main topics that will be covered include advertising, interactions with healthcare professionals, administration, monitoring activities, complaints, sanctions and appeal procedures.

Medical Device Industry Signs Historic Agreement to Reduce Health Funds Premiums

The Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) has signed a four-year Agreement with the Federal Government which will deliver certainty and stability to the industry and will help lower Private Health Insurance (PHI) premiums for Australians.

Private Health Insurance Industry Must Pass on Savings

MTAA calls on the Private Health Insurance to deliver to their 13.5 million customers no more than a CPI increase next year given the scale of the savings they are receiving from reductions to the Prostheses List.  It’s critically important every cent of savings is directly passed through to their customers.

2017 MedTech Industry Award finalists announced

This year the Medical Technology Association of Australia received an all-time high number and quality entries across three awards categories. The judges are pleased to announce the finalists.  The winners will be announced for the inaugural Women in MedTech Champion, Kerrin Rennie Award which is celebrating its 10th year, the 2017 Outstanding Achievement Award and other awards of recognition. The dinner will be held at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf on Wednesday 1st November from 6pm – 9pm.

Vendor Credentialing standard open to public comment

The Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) is pleased to announce that Vendor Credentialing standard AS 5182, a project initiated by the MTAA, has progressed to the public comment stage.

Last night in Parliament House the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) held an event to highlight the patients who have directly benefited from medical technology.  The life-saving & life changing impact of MedTech was heard by some fantastic advocates & pleased so many members of Parliament who attended.  MTAA will be in Parliament again today to highlight the value of MedTech, clinical trials and the need to improve regulatory processes.

Upcoming Standards Australia Workshops

Standards Australia has announced the last round of workshops for 2017 in most capital cities during October/November. This is a new and improved learning program in the Standards Australia Academy consisting of:

- 5 short videos
- An eLearning tutorial
- Face-to-face workshop
 

The workshops will be delivered in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide and Perth.

 

You can register in the Standards Australia Academy. You will need to use your Hub log-in details to enter. Register for your preferred workshop by navigating to the events page. Then complete the pre-requisite learning plan before the workshop.
