Medical device industry calls for My Health Record to include medical device data

The Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) today broadly welcomed the recommendations from the Senate inquiry into transvaginal mesh implants.  As the Government considers the Committee’s recommendations, MTAA will continue to be an active participant in this process to ensure the best outcome for patients.

MTAA releases its New Strategic Plan 2017-2020

The Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) earlier this week launched its new Strategic Plan 2017-2020.  The Strategic Plan draws on extensive quantitative and qualitative research conducted with MTAA members earlier this year.  The Plan focuses on collaboration as a pathway to grow the MTAA, with a broad-based alliance that includes researchers, manufacturers, distributors, clinicians, providers, funders and consumers.

MTPConnect and MTAA are seeking assistance from CROs and Medical Device Companies to provide data on clinical trial activity, expenditure and employment in Australia. The new data will be included in the updated Clinical Trials in Australia report.
