Peter Hawkes is Cluster Lead, MedTech Australia & New Zealand and Vice President, Surgery at Johnson & Johnson MedTech. He leads the company’s Surgery business across Australia and New Zealand, partnering with healthcare providers, clinicians, and industry stakeholders to advance innovative surgical technologies, digital solutions, and patient care. Over more than 16 years with Johnson & Johnson, Peter has held senior commercial, strategic, and business development leadership roles across Australia, Asia, and North America. He is recognised for driving business growth, shaping strategy, and building high-performing teams and cultures focused on accountability, innovation, and execution.

Peter previously spent five years in Asia leading strategic partnerships with emerging healthcare technology companies, digital health innovators, and institutions aligned to Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech strategy. His work spanned digital health, artificial intelligence, and healthcare innovation across the Asia-Pacific region. He holds an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA, and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney.
