Sustainability Spotlight: Revisiting the UK's NHS Supplier Roadmap Journey
In 2022, MTAA partnered with the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) to explore how sustainability was beginning to reshape the UK MedTech landscape. Four years on, the NHS Supplier Roadmap has moved from policy ambition to implementation, with increasing expectations around carbon reduction plans, emissions reporting, sustainable procurement and supplier engagement.
Join MTAA and ABHI for an update on the NHS decarbonisation journey and the lessons learned along the way. This webinar will examine how sustainability requirements have evolved across the NHS, the practical experience of MedTech suppliers navigating these changes, and the emerging trends shaping healthcare procurement in the UK.
As Australia progresses implementation of the National Health and Climate Strategy and health systems continue to strengthen their focus on sustainable and green procurement, understanding the UK's experience provides valuable insight into the direction of travel, potential challenges and opportunities for industry.
This session will be of particular interest to sustainability, procurement, supply chain, government affairs, market access and commercial leaders seeking to understand how healthcare decarbonisation expectations are evolving globally and what this could mean for Australian MedTech suppliers.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Explain how NHS sustainability requirements have evolved since the 2022 webinar.
- Identify the key supplier-facing trends across carbon reduction plans, Scope 1-3 reporting, social value, Evergreen assessment and product-level carbon information.
- Understand ABHI member experience, implementation challenges and areas where further clarity or proportionality is needed.
