HR Networking Forum: Focus Group
MTAA is proud to present the next HR Networking Forum event. A Focus Group examining the safety of customer-facing employees working in clinical and other offsite environments.
Background
MTAA previously commissioned research into sexual misconduct experienced by customer-facing employees of member companies. The findings identified that employees working in clinical and offsite environments may face an increased risk of inappropriate workplace behaviour. Since completing the research, MTAA has explored a range of potential responses and is now considering a proactive industry approach focused on prevention, education, training and ongoing data collection.
Session information
This focus group will bring together HR and People and Culture representatives to discuss:
- The types of inappropriate behaviour, harassment, intimidation or threats customer-facing employees may experience
- How frequently incidents occur and whether they are being reported to employers
- Factors that may discourage employees from raising concerns
- How organisations currently respond when incidents are reported
- Practical measures employers can take to prevent and manage these risks
- How employers can support the physical and psychological safety of their employees
- The education, training, policies and resources that would best support member companies
- Whether MTAA should conduct a new industry survey to understand the current prevalence of these issues
- Opportunities for a coordinated industry-wide approach
The session will be conducted as a respectful and confidential discussion focused on prevention, reporting and organisational practices. Participants will not be expected to identify individuals or disclose details of specific cases.
We encourage HR and People and Culture representatives from across the medical technology industry to participate and help shape the next steps towards safer workplaces for all industry employees.
Your experience and perspectives will help MTAA better understand the current risks and identify practical initiatives to support member companies and improve employee safety across the industry.
