Artificial Intelligence Governance Code and Accreditation Standard
The Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) is proud to collaborate with the Medical Software Industry Association (MSIA) in developing the MTAA/MSIA AI Governance Code, an industry voluntary code of conduct for the use of AI.
About the Code
The voluntary Industry Code and accompanying Accreditation Standard demonstrate industry commitment to ethical, and safe use of AI within organisations and solutions. The code is deliberately high-level at an organisational capacity and is accompanied by an AI Governance Accreditation Standard (note: the Code excludes medical devices).
MTAA and MSIA have been working with members to have this ready to fit with the National AI Plan, released on 2 December 2025.
We look forward to the health and productivity benefits that the safe use of AI in healthcare will provide.

MTAA member Companies wishing to sign up to the AI Governance Code must have an authorised signatory sign and date this acknowledgement and return it to aicode@mtaa.org.au.
The acknowledgement will be noted and the name of the company added to the Public Register.
