MTAA is proud to present this one-hour webinar, Preparing for Australia's Interoperable Future: What Digital Health Companies Need to Know About Sparked and FHIR AU Core.

Event Description

Australia's digital health ecosystem is rapidly moving towards greater interoperability through nationally agreed data and technology standards. CSIRO is leading the Sparked program to develop key interoperability assets including the Australian Core Data for Interoperability (AUCDI) and the FHIR AU Core Implementation Guide, which will underpin how health information is structured, exchanged and reused across healthcare systems.

This webinar will provide MTAA members and the broader digital health community with a practical introduction to Sparked, why it matters, and what software developers, SaMD manufacturers, digital therapeutics providers, remote monitoring companies and other health technology organisations should be doing now to prepare for an increasingly connected healthcare environment.

Participants will learn how to engage with the Sparked community, contribute to standards development activities, and align product roadmaps with emerging interoperability requirements across the Australian health system. The session will also explore how standards such as AU Core, AUCDI and FHIR are expected to support future integration with national and state digital health infrastructure, helping companies position themselves for future procurement, implementation and market access opportunities.

Participants will:

  • Understand the purpose of Sparked and Australia's national FHIR interoperability program.
  • Learn the relationship between AUCDI, FHIR and AU Core and why they matter to industry.
  • Identify practical ways for technology companies to engage with Sparked design groups, consultations, and implementation activities.
  • Understand the technical and strategic steps organisations should consider now to prepare for future interoperability requirements.
  • Gain insights into how national digital health initiatives are shaping expectations for connected and standards-based health technology solutions.
