The Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed) represents manufacturers and suppliers of medical equipment, devices and in-vitro diagnostics, industry associations and other key stakeholders associated with the medical technology industry in Asia Pacific. Our mission is to improve the standards of care for patients through innovative collaborations among stakeholders to jointly shape the future of healthcare in Asia Pacific.

Australian National Fabrication Facility

The Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) offers an affordable solution to reduce barriers in undertaking R&D&C by providing open access to research infrastructure through eight nodes across the country.

ANFF, comprises 120+ full-time staff, and services approximately 3,000 users per year and incorporates world-leading expertise across over 500 individual capabilities located within 21 leading Australian research institutions. Through investment of more than $500 million in National Research Infrastructure, ANFF offers cutting-edge advanced manufacturing equipment, alongside advanced training, expertise and process development support. 

Following extensive consultation with clients and other providers over many years, ANFF identified and integrated into its facilities critical infrastructure required to accelerate the commercialisation of novel technology. The availability of these capabilities, including tools for initial prototyping and complete, industry relevant, process trains within the National Research Infrastructure landscape, provides extensive value to the innovation ecosystem

Life Sciences Queensland Limited

Life Sciences Queensland Limited (LSQ) is an Australian Peak Body that offers opportunities for industry stakeholders to come together and cooperate to grow their businesses and help create a dynamic, internationally competitive and sustainable life sciences industry in Queensland, Australia. LSQ is helping to shape the strategic direction of the industry in the State and influence public policy. LSQ also provides Members with tools, services, market intelligence and access to an international network of life sciences organisations with the aim of identifying new business opportunities and accelerating business growth.

Medical Device Partnering Program

The Medical Device Partnering Program (MDPP) is Australia’s longest-running medtech innovation program, fostering collaborations between researchers, industry, end-users and government and developing novel medical devices with global market potential. Now in its fifteenth year, MDPP has assessed over 1,000 ideas for new medical and assistive technologies, facilitated nearly 200 ideation workshops, completed more than 120 Research and Development projects for medical technology companies and provided manufacturing, partnering and new long-term commercial opportunities with organisations across the country.

MTPConnect

MTPConnect is an independent, not-for-profit organisation formed as part of the Australian Government’s Industry Growth Centres Initiative. Its objective is to accelerate the rate of growth of Australia’s medical technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sector. MTPConnect has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.

NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN)

The NSSN is a consortium of the leading universities in NSW & the ACT. It positions itself at the nexus of universities, government and industry to develop smart sensing solutions to economic, environmental, medical and societal challenges. MedTech is a core theme of the NSSN, based on the premise that smart sensing is critical to the development of medical device innovation. The NSSN is proudly funded by the NSW Government through the Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer.
