Come join us for the launch of "A Conversation With" series where we will take a deep dive into the subject of leadership and personal growth with leaders from Australia and around the world. Strive to be the best of yourself.

To kick off the series, and as part of the MTAA's Women in MedTech program series, our first conversation will be with Marene Allison. Marene is the Chief Information Security Office, Johnson & Johnson, Worldwide Vice President of Information Security Risk Management.

Prior to 2010, Marene was Chief Security Officer and Vice President for Medco, where she oversaw all aspects of security and regulatory compliance.  As head of Global Security at Avaya, Marene secured the World Cup network in Korea and Japan in 2002.  She also worked as Vice President of Loss Prevention and Safety for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company.  Before that, Marene was an FBI Special Agent, working on undercover drug operations, terrorist bombings, and a mock nuclear terrorism exercise.

Marene has a Bachelor of Science degree from The United States Military Academy at West Point in the first class to include women.  She has served in the US Army in the Military Police, as well as on the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services and the Overseas Security Advisory Committee.  Marene is a founding member of West Point Women and currently serves on their Board of Directors.  Marene is married, has a son, a wonderful daughter-in-law and grandson, and lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Interviewing Marene will be Zoë Routh.

Zoë is a leadership expert who has worked with individuals and teams in Australia and internationally since 1987. From the wild rivers of northern Ontario to the remote regions of Australia, Zoë has spent the last thirty years showing teams struggling with office politics and silos how to work better together.

She is obsessed with showing big thinkers with big hearts make a big difference. Her high impact leadership learning adventures take place indoors and outdoors in spectacular settings.

Zoë is the author of three books: 'Composure - How centered leaders make the biggest impact', 'Moments - Leadership when it matters most' and 'Loyalty - Stop unwanted stuff turnover, boost engagement, and build lifelong advocates.' Her past leadership roles include Chair of the Outdoor Council of Australia, President of the Chamber of Women in Business, and Program Manager at the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation.

Zoë is an outdoor adventurist and enjoys telemark skiing, has run 6 marathons, is a one-time belly-dancer, and loves hiking in the high country. She is married to a gorgeous Aussie and is mother to a few garden-wrecking chooks.

MTAA Ignite Program – supporting the next generation in MedTech

Ensuring that talented individuals consider a role within the MedTech Industry

The MTAA Ignite Program is a WiMT initiative to ‘fire up’ medical device companies to sponsor a student to attend an MTAA event, where they can connect with the MedTech industry network and be inspired and supported in their personal development. Sponsorship of a student is a practical and tangible way that leaders in MedTech can provide support and encouragement to future leaders entering a career within the MedTech industry.

Sponsorship cost is the equivalent of one seat at an MTAA event at the member rate.

Sponsors will be recognised at the event.
