Achieving Circularity: Transforming Hospital Polypropylene Waste Into Sustainable Solutions

Join us for a focused 1 hour webinar on how cross‑sector collaboration between academia, industry and healthcare is driving meaningful solutions to Australia’s growing medical waste challenge.

Designed for organisations committed to sustainability, this session will spotlight a scalable model for recycling polypropylene waste in hospitals, focused on reducing both environmental impact and hospital operational costs.

Hosted by MTAA’s Policy Manager, Pravin Siriwardena, the webinar features Berto Pendolfo Project Lead from the University of Technology Sydney, who will share insights from the Achieving Circularity project, including:

  • The current state of non‑woven polypropylene (NWPP) waste in hospitals
  • Piloting a circular‑economy solution to address NWPP waste
  • Evaluation outcomes and next steps in scaling the program
